Begin your walk at Ory’s Trail (on Schuss St opposite Milch Café), following it up until you reach the large brown tank containing Falls Creek’s water supply. Continue uphill along the vehicle track until it crosses onto the old Summit home trail to where the trail forks. Veer left following the trail markers until you reach Pretty Valley Road.
Travel to Falls Creek on the Hume Highway to Wangaratta. From Wangaratta take the Great Alpine Rd (route B) to Myrtleford, Bright, Mount Beauty and then Falls Creek village. The walking track to Wallace Hut commences km along the Bogong High Plains Road from the Rocky Valley dam wall.
The walks starts at Howman's Gap, descending down the Junction Spur Track, almost to the Bogong High Plains Road. It then does a sharp right turn to pick up the Mt Arthur Fire Track that descends further to the Rocky Creek.
